Hi there! My name is Stephanie Blum and I provide virtual mental health counseling at Englewood Therapy Associates. I applaud you for taking this step in finding a tele-therapist. The first step is often the hardest one, and you are already there.
A bit about me…
I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the state of New York and a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of New Jersey. I am also a Nationally Certified Counselor. I have been in the mental health field for about seven years now. There isn’t anything I’d rather be doing than helping clients get better.
My experience includes treating many mental health concerns including anxiety, depression, OCD, anger management, co-parenting, eating disorders, marital conflict, the end of life, and more. Over the last few years I have specialized in working with the LGBTQ demographic, and with young adults of all backgrounds.
I feel fortunate that throughout the years I have been able to help so many people from so many different walks of life. I have worked with people of many different ages, faiths, races, cultures gender identities, sexual orientations, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
I do not believe in a “one size fits all” approach to counseling. Every person is special and unique, and I make sure to tailor my therapy to reflect that. I believe in allowing my clients to steer where the sessions go as well as decide what they want to achieve through our sessions. You are the expert in your own life and I am here to help you.
I work hard to make sure all of my clients are truly seen and heard for who they are. I always promise to provide a safe and non-judgmental session where you can trust to open up and be yourself. Your feelings are valid and I will never tell you otherwise.
At the end of the day, I am here to support you. Whatever you are dealing with, I will help you get through it. The hope is that nothing is permanent and that things will get better. I know it can be hard to believe that when you are suffering, but they will.
I look forward to meeting you and to beginning the journey to wellness together.
“Can it really get better?”
Yes, it absolutely can.
All of this is possible.
When you work with me, you get to drop the mask and be yourself. You get to be vulnerable and real, sarcastic, irreverent, weepy, exhausted, and all the feelings in between.
As we build our bond, you’ll feel safe to explore the thoughts and feelings you’ve been avoiding. You can gain the confidence you need to be yourself wherever you go and with whomever you meet.
That’s my goal for you: Permission to be yourself, unapologetically.
